Now that the 1980s are long behind us, it's fun to look back and celebrate the awesomeness of that fair decade.
A friend of a friend asked me to make a Rubix Cube cake for her husband's surprise 30th birthday party, and I was more than happy to oblige. But why stop there? I added a gnarly Pac Man tier and a large Rice Krispy treat (the birthday boy's favorite) decorated with that black and white checkerboard pattern that those punk skater guys found so fashionable.
I didn't attend the party, but from what I'm told, the cake was a hit. It took a very long time, but it was well worth it. I had a lot of fun!
